SIS uses principle a narrative therapy, a form of counseling that that helps individuals see their problems and behaviors differently in order to create healthier stories and change their relationship with unhealthy behavior.
SIS also incorporates therapeutic writing exercises to help members reclaim their voice through the power of written word.
Women of all ages, education levels, or relationship statuses can experience a temporary or prolonged decrease in their desire for sex. This change can lead to a range of emotions including guilt, shame, confusion, frustration, or loneliness.
Mindfulness-the practice of paying attention to one’s moment to moment experience without judgment–has been found to help women become more aware and accepting of their body’s sexual responses and needs.Mindfulness can also decrease stress levels and symptoms of depression, which may also have a positive impact on sexual experiences.
Desire Mind is an 8 week group where participants learn and practice how to be more present, connect to their body’s sensations, and increase their experience of sexual desire.
Where do you go when your community is no longer able or willing to know you, support you, or comfort you?
How do you reconcile the loving God or Higher Power you believe in with the condemnation others have determined you’re destined for?
The Rainbow Sanctuary aims to be a safe space to discuss these questions and more for queer and trans folks who also identify as a person of faith.
The cost of group therapy at The Naked Truth is $55 per session. Each group offers a limited number of reduced rate or no cost spots to those in financial need. Health insurance benefits are not accepted for group therapy.

I’m a sexual trauma survivor and grew up in a “complicated” family dynamic. Long before I had the professional language to describe my experiences, I felt the impact of them in my mind, body, spirit, and relationships which prompted me to consume as much media as I could that contained stories similar to mine; unknowingly, the foundation for being laid for what would become my career and life’s work as I slowly became “the person I needed.”
